The short version
The blog at blog.officialbloombabe.com sets no cookies at all for ordinary visitors. I checked the server’s responses on the date above and it sends none. The main site at officialbloombabe.com is built with Hostinger’s website builder, which sets a small number of strictly necessary cookies and, only if you agree through its banner, analytics cookies. Neither site uses advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing here follows you across other websites.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, so the site can recognise you on your next page view. Related tools such as local storage do a similar job. This page covers all of them.
The blog: blog.officialbloombabe.com
- Reading, searching, filtering articles: no cookies and no local storage. The category filter on the front page and the search box work without storing anything on your device.
- Logging in: WordPress sets a login cookie and a “test” cookie only on the admin login screen. Those exist for me, the site’s only user. Visitors never see that screen.
- Caching: the site uses LiteSpeed Cache to serve pages faster. It does not set cookies for logged-out visitors.
- Newsletter: there is no email sign-up on the blog today. If one is added, this page will be updated before it goes live, and I’ll name the provider and any cookie it sets.
The main site: officialbloombabe.com
- Strictly necessary: Hostinger’s builder sets the cookies it needs to serve the site and remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off because the site would not work without them.
- Analytics (optional): if you click accept on the cookie banner, Hostinger’s platform analytics may set cookies that tell me, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they read. Decline, and they are never set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the site’s cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back.
- The homepage: the main site’s homepage is drawn from the blog. Loading it makes a request to blog.officialbloombabe.com, which sets no cookies.
Third parties that see a request from you
Some page assets load from other companies’ servers. They receive your IP address and browser details in order to deliver the file, which is how the web works, but they do not set cookies on these sites:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) for the typefaces.
- jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) for the small animation library on the blog.
- WordPress.org (s.w.org) for the emoji script WordPress loads by default.
- Hostinger, which hosts both sites and runs their content delivery network.
Amazon and affiliate links
Some links go to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon sets its own cookies once you arrive there, including one that credits a qualifying purchase to me. Those are Amazon’s cookies, set on Amazon’s site and governed by Amazon’s privacy notice; nothing is set on this site when you click. I never see who clicked or what they bought.
Managing cookies
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, usually under privacy settings. Blocking cookies entirely will not break the blog, because it doesn’t rely on any. On the main site, blocking cookies may make the cookie banner reappear on each visit.
Changes and contact
