The narrow single-door display cases are the cheapest way into a glass cabinet, and every plant person has considered one. Be honest about what you’re getting: a tight interior that fits a surprisingly small number of pots, a frame that flexes, and a door that needs help to stay shut and sealed. It absolutely must be anchored.
Buy it if: budget is the binding constraint and you’re growing a few small, thirsty tropicals rather than building a jungle.
How to Convert Whichever One You Buy
The cabinet is maybe a third of the project. The rest is the same regardless of which one lands in your cart.
- Assemble, then anchor. Level it first — a cabinet on an uneven floor has doors that won’t sit flush, and no amount of foam tape fixes that.
